The film focuses on the simple apple. It will explore the multiple uses of the apple as we follow its journey from the orchard to a crumble, general consumption and its life as cider in he pub. In this documentary we ask a range of people what apples mean to them producing contrasting and creative ideas that represent Somerset people of all ages.
The extract begins with apple falling to the ground, followed by a child carrying it through the countryside, passing it on at every style they encounter. The people in this section of the extract will pass it on to some one older than themselves to portray the range in ages of people who apreciate apples. The film then cuts to scenes of a grandmother cooking apple crumble, with the audio from an interview with her which shows a personal, nostalgic response to the scene. The film then goes back to the apple's journey, following it past Thatcher's brewery and to the pub where the final person will exchange the apple for a glass of cider and join the other subjects in the pub garden for a drink and apple crumble. The closing shot will be of the sun going down in the horizon, with apple trees and people at a range of ages within the shot.
